Valerio De Marchis

Here I am, I'm Valerio De Marchis, currently a student, and I've been writing code since I was almost 14 years old.
Programming and computer science have always been somewhat my hidden passions: it all started with video games, the idea of making one was incredibly popular among my peers in 2020-2021, and with the 2020 lockdown I had a lot of free time.
However, I didn't know how to program yet, so I started creating mods for Minecraft with no-code tools.
one day I decided to start understanding how something is built from scratch, and therefore how to write code.
At the time, just like today, there were so many things you could find online, including thousands and thousands of tutorials on Python, which was my first language and the one I'm still best at.
With Python came my passion for web backend, with Django, a full-fledged framework that I still use today, incredibly powerful and versatile. With the outbreak of the AI revolution, I was fascinated by how it works, I studied the white paper "Attention Is All You Need", even though I understood little of it at first, and I immediately found what was right for me: LangChain, PyTorch and Transformers (Hugging Face).
Three tools that I still study today and that are, in my opinion, the foundation of AI integration in web applications.
I believe that today we also need to study another incredible framework: llama.cpp, the future of open-source models, and open-source models - precisely because they can be run locally and are therefore preferred by companies - are only destined to see their size and their usage grow.


I currently work on spreading knowledge of computer science and coding among my peers, especially regarding AI, web programming and transformer theory. My courses are completely free, as are my projects that you can find on GitHub, to spread this new technology as much as possible.
